ABOUT US

What started out as a simple flat pack bench design has grown into a collection of thoughtfully designed home decor and furniture pieces that you see here. 

After moving into our first home in 2017, we knew that we wanted simple yet beautiful furniture but felt underwhelmed with the quality of furniture available to us. Both coming from design backgrounds, we decided to design a few pieces and get them locally made. After realising the interest that friends and family took in our custom made furniture pieces paired with long nights chatting about the future, we decided to take the leap and start our own furniture design company.

We have educated ourselves on the impact that 'fast furniture' has on the environment and knew that this is something we wanted to stay very far away from. The art of 'slow living' is one of our core values - we pride ourselves on finding the best, most environmentally friendly techniques and materials to work with while fairly supporting other local manufacturers and suppliers.

Looking to the future, we hope to continuously expand our unique product range and grow the Coal brand into many different facets.
